Monday’s Virgo new moon (6:56 p.m. pacific, September 3) is an energetic mixed bag, and almost a green light new moon, although let’s wait just a few more days until Mercury exits its storm period (things should be better starting on Wednesday) after the retro to make any major or life-changing moves.
My first impression on looking at the chart of this new moon was the words “as above, so below”, which to me means that everything is connected, ourselves to the planets, stars, oceans and all life, and that what we do now in our own lives and the world can make a great impact. Everyone who is tuned in has received an intuitional upgrade, or is in the process of downloading a more refined guidance system. Listen to what you feel about any situation. Trust that hunch or gut feeling now. And if you have a sense of what you’re being guided to do, you are probably right.
Let’s start with the sun and moon. In this lunation at 11 degrees Virgo (where does this degree occur in your chart, and what other placements do you have at 11 degrees?) the sun and moon are basically on honeymoon, that is away from all planets with no aspects except a near-conjunction with romantic, harmony-loving Venus.
What does this mean? Periodic breaks, alone and/or with a partner, from the media and social media circus, rat-race-related activity and other distractions, would be a good thing, if only for a short trip or stay-cation. And even if you feel you can’t make time for a longer sabbatical, periodic media breaks and alone time will be very beneficial. Another thing: your head and heart will be more in agreement now (yes, this depends a bit on where this new moon falls in your chart).
Outer planets Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are still in positive aspect, which brings healing after a period of upset, and hope for those who have had difficulty. When the slower-moving outer planets come into favorable aspect, there is more possibility for peace, and more of a feeling that big things can be achieved. These planets are at the serious later degrees (27-29 degrees. What do you have around these degrees, particularly in earth and water signs?)
Of these planets, Neptune is the most aspected. Which means that everyone is moving more rapidly now, either in the direction of more light, enlightenment, and greater intuitive/spiritual prowess, or moving deeper into delusion, escapism and deception. But since the aspects are more positive now, more are moving in the right direction than before.
Pluto also aspects Venus favorably, which can be very powerful in relationships and finances. These are areas in which we can make quantum leaps now. But with Neptune opposing, and the north and south nodes in aspect, in order to do this, we must shift habits, lessen dependencies, and expand in ways that may be uncomfortable at first.
Jupiter, the planet of luck and all good things is aspected by Saturn, and while the aspect is a tense square, working with Saturn (discipline, routine, delayed gratification, rule of law) may bring better-than-expected rewards now. Also, contacting people from the past with or for whom you’ve done good work can be beneficial now.
Jupiter is positively aspected by the asteroid Chiron, which can bring healing insights, and the pursuit of healing can bring benefits which have been evasive or difficult to attain.
Who are the troublemakers in this lunation? Well, the most notable is one that won’t surprise anyone: Mars, the planet of aggression, is in challenging aspect to Neptune, which may have some doubling down on illusory beliefs or practices. The best remedy for this is not to try to change minds through debate, but rather send good energies from a safe distance.
Remember that Mercury is newly direct (2:14 p.m. pacific yesterday, Wednesday) and that it still may be up for some trouble-making, particularly since the planet of communications is in tense aspect to Uranus, the planet of disruption. Yep, more of what I just mentioned. Chill and try not to get into a battle of words. But in regards to your own important work, expand your comfort zone a little more, and be open to new ideas and out-of-the-box solutions.
Mercury gets back up to speed by September 7. Use these next two weeks to get things ready to launch. It’s an exciting time, and that’s not changing anytime soon. Chill as much as you can, but be purposeful in all that you do now, as if you will look back on this time as the beginning of a new chapter in your life. What changes do you want to create? And what small starts can you commit to over the next two weeks?
My next Patreon-exclusive moon circle will be held on Tuesday, September 3. If you’re on Patreon, the link is pinned to the top of the page. If not, I hope you’ll consider joining.
