It’s that time of year again, the Cancer full moon, which you may have heard me refer to as the “Trying not to cry at work” moon. Yep, this could be a challenging one, not only because the emo Cancer moon is facing down not only a stern, disciplinarian Capricorn sun, but that Capricorn sun is conjunct Pluto, the planet of destruction and transformation.
But could this be the moon that brings the transformative energies to bear in such a way that things actually change?
Well, that depends on a few things. The first is: are we ready to be completely honest? Number two is: are we willing to do the hard work of making and sustaining change? Are thirdly, though these are in no particular order, what are we willing to give up for the change we want to create?
I don’t know how these pertain to you, but you probably do. If not, a little meditation on what needs to be transformed now will get you to that answer. And this also pertains to the bigger organizational and societal changes that take the energy of large groups of people committed in the above ways to bringing about the change.
The last two years have brought a lot of gifts in various disguises. And recently a eclipse cycle has shined the light in more of the dark places and made clearer what changes need to take place.
The fourth factor is where this all falls in your chart. That will tell you how to best focus your energy in order to maximize your success, as well as what you can hold off on for now. As always, if you would like to know how to rock it, let’s talk.
So during this moon that highlights the divide between the family/individuals (Cancer) and the marketplace/institutions that make up the system (Capricorn), and throws Pluto (revolution, power) into the mix, a lot of great change can be affected.
Uranus is one of the major power-players in this full moon chart, is another revolutionary, and the planet of upheaval, mass movements and media. And with Uranus aspecting both retrograde Mercury and retrograde Venus, it will be an eventful time in the area of communications, relationships and finances, which is just about everything.
What does this mean? It means everything is up for review, and everything is up for transformation. And this is good news. Even if it will take courage. And it will.
So, yes, change can happen now. Big changes and small. Uranus goes direct on Tuesday, which will get some of the bigger changes that have been sidelined back on track. So if you’re an activist striving for fairness and equality for all, keep up the good fight.
Want to transform your relationship with money? Bring brutal honesty to it. Get everything on paper. Put it up on the wall and track it. Have frequent conscious breakdowns. Notice your patterns and pivot. Be with the feelings as they come up. Explore old beliefs (again) and put them on trial. Get coached (yeah, I do this, in fact it’s one of my favorite things to do. Let’s talk). Be willing to feel all the things.
Substitute the word relationship for money. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Then apply the process to changing the world for the better. Easy peasy 🙂
Ok, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Mercury retro. So here’s the lowdown again.
Mercury goes retro on Friday, January 14 at 3:41 a.m. Remember that the day Mercury changes direction can pack an extra punch, so stay especially grounded starting, well, yeah, starting now.
Be creative and flexible, have a sense of humor, but maybe hold off on life-changing decisions unless you’ve already done all the research and you feel confident going in. Also, if the angels trumpet, and you feel spiritually impelled, which often does happen during this time. Trust your gut.
Mercury retro officially goes from Friday, January 14 – February 3, but give it until February 9 to get back up to speed.
