Today’s full moon (2:38 p.m. pacific) is also a partial lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse is basically a super-charged full moon. Add to that a Mercury retro that slides from dramatic Leo to emotional Cancer, as well as some challenging Venus aspects to add spice to your relationships, and you’ve got an eventful couple of weeks coming up.
The lunar eclipse pits a career-oriented Capricorn moon against an emotional Cancer sun. This one could bring up a host of feelings around your livelihood and possible insights related to purpose and direction.
Be mindful, as the eclipse cycle occurs during a Mercury retro that has been dramatic as well as emotional. It’s my bet that if you have a habit, belief or pattern that you’d rather leave behind, it will show up to be flushed out, which just means dealt with in a different, more empowering way. This is a good time to set intentions related to a habit you’d like to transform. Full moons, and particularly eclipses are about reduction and elimination, so its best to focus on things you’d like to phase out. At the new moon, the focus is on increase and forward momentum. But now, with both the Mercury retro and the lunar eclipse, completion is job one.
Venus, the planet of love and money, also catches some oppositional energy from heavy-hitters Saturn and Pluto. Over the next few days, challenges could arise in these areas. Once again, the key is to meet the old problem with new strategies. Disciplines such as Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Non-Violent Communication can be helpful during this time. But any time spent studying ways to change reactions will be beneficial now. Mercury retro favors research.
Everything turns around, or at least begins to feel more normal on July 31, which gives us both a Leo new moon, ending the eclipse cycle, and a change of direction for Mercury. But, heads up on that one, as the day Mercury goes retro or direct may pack a few extra shenanigans. But things should settle down a bit around that day. If you’re in San Diego county, I’ll be having a New Moon Circle that evening. See below for the info.
As always, staying flexible and centered is the best medicine for planetary shenanigans, as well as the willingness to learn what lessons are presented. Nobody should get through an eclipse cycle without some transformation. Court it. Ask for it. Be eager for the lessons and the opportunity to meet an old devil in a new way.
Blessings,
Jackleen
