Wednesday’s full moon in Leo (8:12 p.m.pacific) will most likely bring relief in some form after an intense eclipse cycle coupled with a Mercury retro. In fact, on the same day, Mercury will go direct, which means be mindful, as the day Mercury changes direction can be one of the trickiest days in the cycle.

But mostly, a new moon is a time of renewal and forward movement. However, as Mercury is still in its storm until August 8, this new moon begins on a slightly more cautious note. If you can stay mindful, focused and flexible, the green light will come on shortly.

The Leo new moon is mostly lucky, especially for creative types, and those with a vision to change the world. While Uranus, the planet of change and disruption will cause a few waves this week, possibly on the global stage, there are positive aspects that will smooth out personal difficulties and bring solutions to old problems, particularly those that came up to be looked at during the last month.

One of these is a Jupiter/Mars trine which will bring success to your efforts over the next two weeks. Where you do your work will be where you are rewarded, so make sure to devote some of your energy to your grand vision, particularly if creativity, children or recreation  is part of that dream. Jupiter is also the planet of teaching and travel, and in its home sign of Sagittarius, these pursuits are favored as well. And if you have a business, this would be a good time to ask “How can I expand?”

Another planet that is heavily aspected during this new moon is Neptune, the planet of spirituality, unconditional love, and, on the darker side, illusion and drugs. Its aspects are mostly positive, but a challenging square to Jupiter may render some vulnerable to sweet talk and advertising hype. Stay grounded. Meditate. Trust your intuition, and know the difference between your gut feelings and magical thinking.

Leo is the sun’s favorite sign, and a Leo new moon can be a wonderful thing, with the sun and moon in harmony after a period of disruption. This particular new moon will have a fortunate Cazimi period, which just means that there is a lucky window 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after the new moon (which occurs at 8:12 p.m. Wednesday).

And speaking of that lucky Cazimi period, participants in my new moon circle will get to use this lucky period for a super-cool group manifestation. So if you’re lucky enough to be in San Diego Wednesday night, consider joining us.
