Friday’s 23 degrees Taurus full moon (1:28 p.m.) gives us an explosive mix of cosmic energy in mostly challenging aspects. Yes, there will be good that comes of what happens now, and from deliberately and boldly doing what you are guided to do. We will talk about that in a minute.
As you know, a full moon is the opposition of the moon and sun, which symbolize the head and heart, the soul and ego, the masculine and feminine. And the Taurus/Scorpio combo is one of the most stubborn of them all. Add to that a Uranus/moon conjunction, which brings more upset, disruption, reversals and emotional volatility into play. I’ll bet you noticed that there’s a little bit of that going around 😉
And besides the sun and moon, there are two other oppositions: Pluto and Mars, and Jupiter and Mercury.
The Mars/Pluto opposition is the representation of David and Goliath, or the employee versus the boss, individual versus the group/government/bureaucracy. Many will be emboldened now to make a stand against the giants. This can be corporations, institutions, or other groups. If you believe strongly in your cause now, and can get support in fighting the powers that be, this could be an advantageous time to challenge the boss or other authority. However, there will be those who do this without thinking it out, though violence or other misguided impulses. And anger will be abundant for those who traffic in it. Make sure your plans are solid, and you are centered and grounded.
If you’re one who finds an argument of one sort or another at the doorstep of every full moon, this one could be particularly combative. Take deep breaths. And try to steer clear of argumentative types. The more centered you can be, the less you will attract this difficult energy. Be particularly sensitive to those who are having big emotions now.
The next opposition is Mercury to Jupiter, and this one can actually be beneficial. But before I go any further, let’s talk about the upcoming Mercury retro. Yep, it’s almost that time again. Actually, we are already in the shadow period. And I normally don’t worry too much about the shadow period, but this time feels a little different. Who has felt the murkiness of the retro period creeping in early? The storm period starts next week, on the 21st, and the retro proper happens on the 25th, yup, just in time for Thanksgiving. The retro goes until December 15, and exits the storm on December 20. And, yes, it’s a Sagittarius retro, so if you were curious whether anyone was going to put their foot in it, well, now you know. But there will be lots of humor and creativity that arise now.
But back to the Mercury/Jupiter. This third opposition can actually bring luck, but will often do so in an inconvenient, irritating or otherwise roundabout way, especially as the retro heats up and gets cooking. So, as I always say, try not to rush to judgment when misunderstandings, delays and re-routings occur. Consider that these are happening for a good reason, and ask what can be learned.
Chiron, the asteroid of the wounded healer makes an appearance here to smooth out the rough edges of this opposition, as it aspects both Mercury and Jupiter positively. If you take the position that everything that happens, even the difficult things, are happening for your healing, upliftment and spiritual growth, and always look to find the silver lining, you will be able to take advantage of several synchronistic events disguised as difficulties.
Another challenging aspect is the square between Mercury and Saturn. This can manifest as foot-in-the-mouth moments, or otherwise saying the wrong thing, often to a person in an authority position. Also, double-check instructions, and make sure you understand. Err on the side of caution rather than assumption.
Need some good news? Well, the outer planets are still in good aspect, and this means that everything truly is happening for a bigger reason. If you trust that this is true, and that the inconvenient or difficult path is somehow the fastest way to where you intend to go, hang on, and keep moving with purposeful intention.
Remember, the full moon and the two weeks following it are all about completion, elimination, reduction and release. What if your life needs to be let go now? Which habits would you like to reduce or eliminate? Clean, organize, and put the finishing touches on projects now. Preparation is another unsung hero of the waning moon phase (the two weeks between full and new moon) so use this time to set yourself up for future success.
Full Moon Blessings,
Jackleen
