Thursday’s 21 degree Capricorn new moon (3:57 a.m. pacific) has all the earmarks of what I like to call a green light new moon.

New moons, by definition, are more harmonious and friendly to new beginnings than full moons, which can be wrought with tension and are more favorable to completions and releases.

But this Capricorn new moon is very well-aspected, with only one challenge, a square between Neptune and Mercury that may have some people tempted to embellish liberally and/or see things the way they want to see them rather than how they are.

But now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about the many happy aspects that the chart of this lunation gives us.

The first and most obvious, of course, is the lovely sun/moon conjunction in down-to-earth Capricorn. What planets do you have around 21 degrees, particularly in earth signs? (For me, it’s my Virgo moon, which gives me a perfect trine to both the sun and moon. Woo-hoo!)

Our favorite and most fortunate aspect in astrology is the trine. And the first trine we have in this new moon chart is from the sun/moon conjunction to Uranus: brilliant ideas and lightning bolt solutions, anyone? This is also a call to activism for anyone who has strong beliefs about what’s going on in the world and who feels called to do something about it. Work toward your grand vision or work with a visionary group. And if you’re a person who’s able to keep your cool during a crisis, this type of working or volunteering is also favored.

Another trine is that between Mars and Jupiter. I love this one, because those who have a strong desire (Jupiter) and put energy (Mars) behind it will reap rewards. Yes, the reward may not come in exactly the way you envision it, and it may take a little time, but where you put your work over the next two weeks is where you’ll see the fruits of your endeavors. So focus on the biggest dreams first and foremost.

Speaking of Jupiter, it’s now at 6 degrees Taurus. What planets do you have around the 6 degree mark? This is where you’ll find your luck!

Sextiles are the second-best aspect. While trines are commonly known as love aspects, sextiles are friendship and teamwork. They can bring help from others, fun adventures or beneficial alliances.

At the crux of both sextiles in this lunation’s chart, we have Saturn, a planet that isn’t always super-friendly. But in this configuration, we get luck (Jupiter) coming in from work we’ve done in the past (Saturn) or new opportunities coming from people we’ve helped or those they’ve told about said help. Mars is on the other side of this, so keep up the good work, as all these elements keep feeding each other. Be deliberate in what you do. Remember the famous Thoreau quote: “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” When you put all these aspects together, this is what they add up to.

Pretty good stuff, I think.

If you would like to find out where this all lands in your unique chart and how you can maximize your success, love and abundance now, let’s talk.

New Moon Blessings,

Jackleen
